Lloyds is a Victorian
building, just inside the conservation area of the small market town of
Llanidloes, set amid the gentle hills of mid-Wales. Since acquiring the
business over 13 years ago, we have gained a reputation for our friendly,
homely welcome and hospitality, very high standards of cleanliness and
comfort, and for those who enjoy fine dining, our outstanding cuisine.
We have just seven
guest rooms, each en-suite. Breakfast is cooked to order. Our restaurant is
open any, but not every evening for dinner, and pre-booking is essential.
The five-course surprise, no-choice menu takes several hours to prepare and
is carefully planned around anything you ask us to avoid.
Our weekends tend to
get booked up well in advance – for the restaurant and for accommodation.
I love the low-key
exterior which gives no idea of the delights within. And, my goodness, there
were some delights.

I can see why Chris
was so keen to make such an outrageous detour!

Lloyds, from the balcony of our new (in March 2005) superior double bedroom.
With this improvement, all our guest rooms have en-suite facilities. When we
purchased the hotel in late 1992, there were eleven rooms, and guests had to
share two bathrooms and a tardis-like shower room!
