The Shippen - Open-plan barn conversion

Lovely location and rental, couple of minor issues

Pros: The location is beautiful, with a lovely view across the valley and very well placed for walking, with the Shropshire Way path right on the doorstep. It was very quiet and peaceful. The Shippen definitely is a high spec barn conversion, with lovely oak beams, the massive windows giving a great view and a well thought out open plan design that makes the most of the space. The bed and sofas are very comfortable. Hosts were very friendly and approachable. Very well equipped with everything we needed for the stay.

Cons: The email received prior to my stay had references to directions links that did not work, so we used the What3Words reference to get there, which took us by a very narrow and twisty route (we found a much easier one once settled in). When we got to the Shippen, the code for the key lockbox given in the email did not work. I contacted Jeannie, who answered immediately and gave the correct code. The Booking.com email seems auto-generated and out of date, hopefully an easy fix. A minor maintenance issue – the blind in the bathroom is frayed and the pull chain on it doesn’t work.

Pros: Absolute fabulous stay. We went on lovely walks straight from the front door with our little doggies! So welll equipped and the finishing touches were so lovely. We had a christmas tree on the verandah and christmas touches throughout the barn. Owners so lovely. Would definitely return! Amazing 👏

Beautiful accommodation with the highest standards of cleanliness and facilities

Pros: Beautifully presented with quality furnishings and equipment. Very helpful hosts.

Cons: Access was difficult but the reward for the effort was the view and the quiet location. Unfortunately the weather was dreadful throughout our stay which made the access roads flood. Better to stay with a good forecast!!

Pros: Beautiful, cosy cottage for a lovely weekend away. It was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. The views from the property were beautiful and was a perfect location for a lovely walk! The kitchen was well equipped too!

It was sooo lovely and relaxing! And absolutely gorgeous views.. 😀
