A real gem of an evening

Pros: Friendly staff and excellent service. Our visit coincided with one of the Friday night music events. Wonderful atmosphere and warm welcoming people!

Very quirky, but lovely with a big log fire.

Pros: The location is excellent. Very old quirky hotel, oab beams and uneven creaky floors, loved it. The service and hospitality was unbelievable, needed a late checkout due to a funeral time, no problem. Thankyou. We had a meal there too. Food is fabulous.

Cons: Can't fault it, but it depends if you like a very old world hotel.

Double room at The Wynnstay

Pros: Lovely, old hotel. Full of character. Our room (21) was large, with plenty of storage. It was serviced daily. The bathroom decor was dated but it was spotlessly clean. Secondary glazing on the old sash windows kept the room quiet and warm. There was a good choice of breakfasts. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Cons: The stair carpets were tired and worn which didn't give a good first impression but this didn't affect our stay. The shower in our room was not powerful enough - lots of hot water for the bath however. The TV was too small to be viewed from the bed.

A characterful hotel with friendly staff and great food.

Pros: It was very convenient and comfortable. The facilities were as expected and we loved the log fire. The breakfast and Sunday lunch were exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel. Machynlleth is a delightful small town with excellent shops and beautiful countryside.

An enjoyable and memorable stay in a heritage hotel with lots of character.

Pros: Dinner on our first night went well and made us feel at home.

Cons: Breakfast on our last morning was slow because a large group of residents were being served, and staff resources were stretched.
