Plas Nanteos Mansion

Plas Nanteos Mansion is a quintessential Grade 1 Georgian Mansion that operates on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Set within 35 acres of grounds and offering 22 luxury ensuite bedrooms and an exquisite 4 bedroomed self catering Mews House. Plenty of free onsite parking, with Tesla charge points, the property has a number of sumptuous public areas with free fast wifi available throughout the property including the bedrooms. Flat-screen TV's are provided in all Nanteos rooms, along with tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and chocolates. All rooms have king or super king-size beds. We welcome pets, however, we only allow pets to stay in our PET FRIENDLY ROOMS, if you wish to be accompanied by your pet companion you must book a pet friendly room. A full Welsh breakfast along with a selection of other dishes pre-ordered the night prior is served in the Restaurant or your room. The Library bar is open between 3pm and 10pm. Aberystwyth Castle, Royal Pier and coastline are only a 10-minute drive away. The Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway is also located in the town centre, and provides the start to a walk over the cliff-tops to Clarach Bay, from where you can catch a bus back to Aberystwyth. Our restaurant is open for dinner to both residents and non-residents from Wednesday to Saturday between 6.30pm-8.30pm. We serve an A la Carte menu using the best of local produce, delivered with friendly yet professional service

Shame it is/has closing/closed

Pros: Lovely property, but when we were checking in was told it was closing for good a couple of weeks later which was quite sad. It would be an ideal Best Western Premier buti it does need a bit of cosmetic work and dome money spending on it but beautiful nonetheless. Nowhere else like it we could find in the Aberystwyth area.

I am sad that it will soon close. I will miss my visits.

Pros: I have stayed at Nanteos for many years. The house is wonderful, its historic character is perfect. The bucolic setting is matchless. The staff have a genuine affection for the building and its history.

Cons: Nothing.

Everlasting memories were created!!!

Pros: Friendliness of the staff- nothing too much trouble Historical location.

Cons: Had to change my booking as Nanteos mansion is closing permanently but didn’t like the fact booking.com charged us £25 extra th change to earlier dates.

A building to add interest to a stay.

Pros: An extremely interesting historical building and grounds and lovely views. Extremely quiet, dark and peaceful. A comfy bed. A good breakfast. Friendly, efficient staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely and warm.

Cons: We didn’t have a wardrobe or anywhere to hang coats in our room. We stayed on a Tuesday when the restaurant is closed but being able to have an evening meal on the premises rather than having to leave to find food would have made our stay perfect

Leaves a very special memory in your heart

Pros: The staff were very professional and very welcoming. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Interesting house with lots of original features. The kitchen was a great venue for breakfast loved the original fittings here.
