The place to stay in Talgarth!

Pros: This is the perfectly situated hotel, equidistant from the literary centre of the universe that is Hay on Wye and the Town that has everything, Brecon. Beautiful rooms, fantastic hot showers, endless breakfasts and the most hospitable staff you can imagine! But a huge added bonus! There is a fish and chip shop beside the hotel that serves some of the best food in Talgarth at very reasonable prices. In the area? Stay at the Castle. I do!

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable, clean and very reasonable.

Pros: Very accommodating when we were in an emergency. Staff helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and clean. Microwave & fridge in breakfast area was useful for making dinner. Fruit etc available.

Cons: Self-service breakfast, so not cooked breakfast. Initially no vegan options but Katherine got plant milk in especially.

I would stay here again, great value for money

Pros: Very friendly staff and allowed me to have an early breakfast which was great for an early get away. Breakfast was nice with a good continental selection.

Cons: Walls a little thin so could hear other people.

Pros: Warm welcome, clean and tidy. Excellent choices for the continental breakfast. A lot of variety, more than you would expect. Bedroom was very comfortable and the ensuite was above average. Bonus was onsite free parking. Really good. No complaints. Would recommend.

Cons: Nothing to mention.

Ideal location for the Royal Welsh Showground and super dog friendly, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend

Pros: Welcoming and friendly. True meaning of “dog friendly”. Lovely self-service breakfast for early risers. Bonus of a garden out back where dogs could be exercised off lead.

Cons: Really steep narrow staircase which was tricky with 3 dogs!

Definitely will stay there again when next in the area. Highly recommended.

Pros: Staff could not be better. We had a very early start - we were shown where everything was in the breakfast r.oom and told to help ourselves to whatever was needed, as we needed to leave before staff arrived. Dogs VERY welcome at no extra charge, large garden for them. The hotel hotel was scrupulously clean. Fab fish and chips from the on site takeway which had a good variety of meals at excellent prices, which could be eaten inside the hotel.

Cons: Three of us all paid the same price but there was a vast difference in the rooms, ranging from very spacious to small and less well appointed.
