Highly recommend for comfort, quality and quiet.

Pros: Beautiful scenic and peaceful location. Warm, friendly and comforting host and household. Philip was really helpful and on hand to guide us when we arrived late in the snow and dark. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, served in lovely bright orangery with log burner which made it very cosy. Would recommend 100%, didn't want to leave ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Step back in time and still stay in luxury

Pros: This is a beautiful house located in a beautiful village. The bed was so comfy it was hard to get up in the morning. I was lucky enough to have a chat with Phillip and he told me about the house and how he personally restored the beautiful garden. The table setting for breakfast felt like being in a manor house and the breakfast was cooked fresh to order. The whole experience was exceptional. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Cons: There's nothing not to love!

Friendly welcome, felt very comfortable

Pros: Nice character property in nice location with very nice owner and staff

Cons: Had to walk across landing to private bathroom and was worried about disturbing people with creaky floorboards and noisy door catches

Recommended

Pros: Quiet village location (one convenience store open until 9 pm). Old-fashioned property with plenty of character. Friendly welcome. Key to come and go as you please. Plenty of hot water. Plenty of electrical sockets. Wi-Fi fine. Generous breakfast (cereals, toast, juice, cooked breakfast). Recommended. Happy to stay here on another occasion.

Cons: Breakfast from 8.30, which may be late for some.

Just allow yourself to be indulged.

Pros: I had the misfortune to arrive at The Old Rectory thanks to my sat nav. The gentleman owner is not given to warm greetings indeed he shows all the signs of disliking the human race. However once Iโ€™d recovered my mistake Inhad the pleasure of meeting Phil. The hotel proprietor is the complete opposite of the other chap indeed Philโ€™s genteel manner infects everything and you are absorbed in the entire sanctuary of The Old Vicarage. Phil is no more religious than me and actually enjoys an active political mind and opinion. I have no hesitation in awarding this stay a 5 star rating.

Cons: Saying goodbye
