Clean friendly and very accommodating

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at the Castle Hotel. It’s a lovely, welcoming place and we were super pleased from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service throughout our visit was really good — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and we particularly appreciated the tea and coffee facilities in the room, which was a nice touch. The garden area was perfect for the dogs, giving them space to stretch their legs safely. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would happily return. Highly recommended!

Cons: I was on the top floor which was hard work with 2 dogs

Pros: Room spacious and very clean. Our springer spaniel made very welcome !

Cons: Our evening meal, especially our main courses, were unexceptional. In particular, my lentil shepherds pie was nothing like a shepherds pie, with gravy lying on the top. Not sure what the additional jug of gravy was for. Having said that, it did taste better than it looked.

What a hidden gem of a hotel!!

Pros: We stayed in the room N7 in the attic and throroughly enjoyed ourselves at the Castle hotel. The room was cosy with a charming decor, the view through the attic window was stunning. The bed was super comfortable - I had the best sleep ever! The bathroom was very clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant meal was simply outstanding! Overall 10/10 and I’m looking forward to coming back again in the future!

Great staff and service. Characterful hotel in a great location. Excellent food. We will be back!

Pros: Great location. Lovely old building with lots of character. Great options for dining from cosy pub/bar areas to more formal restaurant. Very quiet location.

Cons: TV too small to watch from the distance of chairs/ bed … but didn’t bother us as we spent the evening in the cosy bar.
