The Dragon Hotel

Pros: The hotel staff were lovely,we had a really nice meal in the evening after arriving & the breakfast in the morning was great plenty of options plus there was a vegetarian option which was perfect for my partner

Cons: The room was a little on the small side & we had no hot water in the evening before going to bed

A brilliant one night break, wish I had stayed longer

Pros: It was refurbished recently so felt clean and fresh, it was lovely and warm, important for winter stay. The room was comfortable. The staff were pleasant friendly and helpful, the restaurant had a good menu that catered for special diets and the breakfast was great.

Gets better every year, even after 30 years.

Pros: Amazing room. Great staff. Really lovely food. Breakfast was excellent. Eggs Benedict a big hit as was the omelet and the full Welsh. Pork belly and duck both excellent also. This might explain why we have been coming here for 30 years.

Cons: Leaving It's a shame that the pool is no longer in commission

Pros: Staff were all extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful Facilities were really good, location is absolutely stunning Travelled 4 hours to collect a rescue dog with staffy aswell and the hotel was more then happy to accommodate both my dogs :) Perfect dog friendly hotel in my opinion

Pros: Stayed over night with a group of friends while visiting Powis Castle & Welshpool. We had 2x premium twins & a king size rooms on 1st floor - good size, excellent condition, great shower. Watched a 6 nations match in the bar. We booked dinner in the bistro but ended up eating in the bar (same menu) as bistro was empty. Lovely meal, staff were friendly, relaxed service which was great as we were in no rush. Delicious breakfast. Recommend the cafe in the post office across the square.

Cons: Kingsize bed in room 14 was a bit squeeky. Pool was closed for s refurb (but they emailed and told us in advance

Definitely stay there agian when in the area

Pros: Kitchen staff looked after us even though we were a bit late arriving, the staff were great and a good cooked breakfast. Bonus being it was economical.

Pros: A small, interesting room that had everything in it.

Cons: It was a bit cold; the radiator at the bottom didn’t heat very well

Pros: Lovely old building - though there was a low bit of ceiling that we kept finding with our heads! Perfect location, free parking, excellent restaurant, quiet and peaceful at night until the clock outside chimed at 7am! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The “small double” room that we booked was bigger than expected, perfectly adequate for one night. Would definitely go there again.

Cons: Slightly spoiled by a misunderstanding about the bill, they were struggling with some new software and it was quickly sorted out.
